Also known as "Bugle", this is an usual variety which you do not often see. Dark crinkled leaves with deep blue flowers, which are a lovely contrast in the borders or in pots. When the flowers fade, the leaves alone are a real talking point in the garden!

For the best results, Ajuga like to be grown in moist but well-drained soil. The flower spikes with blue flowers adorn the plant from spring to mid-summer. It can be grown in full sun or partial shade, but more sunlight will give you more flowers.

It is ideal for a woodland style garden or a lovely addition to the front of a border for a cottage garden. A great ground cover if you are wanting something that is both pretty and that spreads reasonably quickly. It is perennial and hardy as well.
