Very highly perfumed and fast-growing vine that spreads across pergolas, frames or fences. This unusual vine has masses of flowers in lovely lilac and cream colours that curl curiously around itself like a snail shell, hence the common name.

It prefers full sun and consistently damp soil.

It is evergreen but a tender perennial, keep sheltered in areas south of Auckland, and protect from heavy frost.
