This flowering quince is also known as Japanese quince or Maule's quince. 

The flowers are single and snow white with a tinge of green. Flowers are borne on thorny bare stems, which often mature into ornamental fruit. Flowers from late winter to early spring, so great to provide interest to the garden at a time when there's not much else in bloom. 

An easy growing shrub, tolerant of most soil types though happiest in well drained soil. Happy in full sun to part shade. Perfect for border plantings or an a feature plant.

It flowers on the previous years growth, and can be pruned each year after flowering to allow time for those new shoots to develop.

Good for beneficial insects.
