A wonderful plant as a filler in the perennial garden with unique dark maroon-purple flowers.  Unlike Mourning Widow, this variety has plain green leaves but still a standout plant with its dark flowers.  Definitely a standout plant in the garden. Easy care, you can simply cut back the foliage after flowering to encourage new growth and flowering.

Flowers in early spring and is happy in shade or sun and great in either the garden or a pot.  Enjoys a moist rich soil and is an excellent choice for a woodland garden, but equally at home in dry soil in a shady spot.  Easily divided in spring or early autumn to give you more plants. A good cut flower.
