This is a beautiful plant for the cottage garden. A winter dormant perennial, Veronicastrum is great for providing vertical interest with it's tall, striking flower spikes. 
The deep green leaves grow in whorls around the flower stems. Flowers in summer and early autumn, great for pollinators.
